Upcoming Events
April After-Hours Business PM
In April we held our After-Hours Business PM networking event at Blades and Boards in Rib Mountain. After a delicious taco bar buffet meal catered by El Tequila Salsa everyone had an opportunity to learn how to throw a hatchet from 2021 World Axe Throwing League national axe throwing competitor John Doepke.
After some practice time, 2-person teams were formed with three rounds leading to a first, second, and third place winner!
Competitive axe throwing is a sport that is sweeping the world, complete with leagues as well as regional, national, and world-wide tournaments. Axe throwing is safe, and open to people of any age or with physical limitations.
Blades and Boards has locations in both Wausau/Rib Mountain and Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Axe throwing is a great activity for groups, and makes a great team-building exercise for companies and organizations. Give it a try!

Easter Food Basket Drive
Members of South Area Business Association partnered with Trig’s Everest Metro, United Way’s Marathon County Hunger Coalition, Neighbor’s Place, and the Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area to donate Easter Food Baskets to area families in particular need this year – due to the COVID-related measures that forced many thousands of people out of work and closed hundreds of businesses, as well as the financial hardships on top of emotional devastation to those who experienced the death of a loved one through this time.
The great gift and promise of Easter is HOPE. No winter lasts forever – no spring skips its turn. Easter is a time symbolizing hope, renewal, and new life. While financial priorities have shifted for many, one priority that should not shift is whether to put food on the table for one’s family at this time of Easter celebration.
Trig’s Everest Metro generously donated hams to get things. SABA members pitched in with donations to complete an Easter meal for each family with potatoes, rolls, green beans, sweet potatoes, and a pie.
Due to the generosity and hard work of our partners and sponsors, we are pleased to report that we were able to provide 75 complete meals to families in need, 3 TIMES our original goal of 25!
Thank everyone so much from us to you, for your consideration, support and involvement with this community effort!
